Treat yourself to a holiday in sunny Eastbourne and take one of the 3-5 day courses. This year’s highlights include studio friend Alice Fox coming to teach a new course on finding and making, and Steward Kelly teaching a developmental course. I am also teaching Wet ‘n’ Wild as a pair of short courses which can be taken together or individually, and a new course: Express Yourself for those of you who want to delve into making work that has a concept or emotional intent at its heart.

These courses will be fun but intense learning experiences and you will leave with plenty of practical knowledge to take into your own textile work. Some classes have 8 students, and you will work with a bench buddy on the 2m benches. Whilst others are limited to 6 students if there is a necessity for working on whole print bench. There is a buffet style lunch – highly recommended by students from previous Re-Treats! And if you are still not sure – read some of the feedback in the comments section at the bottom of page.
To book a place on any Re-Treat please pay the deposit via the Add to Cart button by the course you are interested in – but do check the booking details at the bottom of the page first! If there is no button, that means the course is full but please e mail me to be added to the waiting list as people often drop out close to the date and free up a space which I fill from the list.

This deposit is only refundable up to 3 months before the start of the course. At this stage you will be asked to pay the full balance of the course. Once the full balance has been paid, your place can only be cancelled and the fee refunded if I am able to fill the place from the waiting list.
Any materials fee that is required for the course is based on tutor requirements and studio supplies, the amount will be communicated to you at the start of the course and is paid for on the last day of the course itself. Generally the materials fee does not exceed £40, and is more often in the region of £25.
There are a couple of small B&B’s about 10 minutes away from the studio along the seafront. Breakers and By The Sea are used by studio regulars and are reasonable and have great breakfasts! There is also a dog friendly B&B just a little further from the studio – Ebor Lodge
We also have a Premier Inn in the centre of Eastbourne about 5-10 minutes walk away .
Several students have stayed in Ravilious Hotel and thoroughly recommended it for its breakfasts, and its cleanliness. It is also only about 10-15 mins walk from the station but now it is about 20 mins from the studio. It does have quite a few stairs, so perhaps not suitable for anyone with knee problems. Another B&B close to the station but about 20-25 mins from studio venue, is The Manse, a stylish house with many arts & crafts original features and great breakfasts!
As this is a holiday town, there are also a wide range of hotels, AirBNB’s and B&B’s to suit every purse! Watch this space for more recommendations!
